Baptism is the “wedding ring” of Christianity, showing your commitment to follow the path God has for your life. It is an outward expression of an inward change. In Baptism we identify with Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection and publicly declare our commitment to follow Him.
BAPTISM
BAPTISM FAQ'S
You are a follower of Jesus Christ.
“Those who accepted his message were baptized.”
– Acts 2:41
You are beginning a changed life in Christ.
“We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”
– Romans 6:4
You are part of a new family.
“So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.”
– Galatians 3:26–27
When we are baptized we are following Jesus’ example & obeying His command.
“As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, ‘This is my Son, whom I love; with him, I am well pleased.’”
– Matthew 3:16–17
“Peter replied, ‘Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.’”
– Acts 2:38
The significance of baptism is a personal decision to follow Jesus & declaration to the world that you are following him. If your baptism did not reflect this change of life, or your own personal decision to follow Him, then you might consider being baptized again.
We want anyone who understands what baptism symbolizes and wants to make that personal public declaration to be baptized. If your child is wanting to be baptized and you feel they understand the significance of baptism, please click here (baptism reg link), and register them for our next baptism. One of our Bayside Adventure Kids staff members will reach out to you and walk you through baptism.
At Bayside Adventure we do not perform infant baptism, however we have Child Dedications twice a year, and would love to have you & your family be a part of that celebration. For more information on Child Dedications you can contact our Children’s Ministry at allison.barrera@baysideonline.com
